There were several reasons why the Constitution was adopted over the Articles of Confederation, but the greatest was that the Articles were very weak and gave the central government almost no power.

Explanation:

The Articles produced a loose confederation of sovereign states and a weak primary government, will most of the power with the country governments. The need for a stronger Federal government soon became obvious and ultimately led to the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

One reason why the Constitution was adopted over the Articles of Confederation the Articles gave too much power to the national government. The states were not available to exchange the commodities between themselves under the Articles.

Further Explanation

The Constitution of the United States ascertained America’s federal government and requisite laws and assured several fundamental rights for its residents. It was acknowledged on September 17, 1787, by delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. The Articles of Confederation, the federal legislation was limited and states amputated like autonomous nations.

At the 1787 conference, delegates devised a strategy for a more powerful federal administration with three segments such as executive, legislative and judicial simultaneously with a classification of checks and balances to ensure no individual branch would have excessive power. The Bill of Rights supported basic specific protections, such as the liberation of speech and persuasion that turned to be the part of the Constitution in 1791.

The Articles of Confederation remained continuously March 4, 1789, when they were compensated by the U.S. Constitution. In acknowledgment to comprehensive hostility approaching a strong fundamental administration, the Articles of Confederation kept sweeping administration weak and allowed for the states to be as self-supporting as possible.
