Answer:

It is given that:

ABCD is a parallelogram with diagonal line BD.

To prove that: \triangle ABD \cong \triangle CDB

Properties of parallelogram:

• Opposite sides are parallel

• Opposite sides are congruent

• Opposite angles are congruent

• Diagonal bisects each other.

In \triangle ABD and \triangle CDB

By definition of parallelogram;

\overline{AD} || \overline{BC}

\overline{AB} || \overline{CD}

Alternative interior angle theorem says that if the two parallel lines are cut by transversal, then the pairs of alternative interior angles are congruent.

by alternative interior angle theorem;

\angle ADB \cong \angle CBD

\angle ABD \cong \angle CDB

By reflexive property:

\overline{DB} || \overline{DB}

ASA(Angles sides Angle) postulates states that if two angles and the included side of one triangle to corresponding parts of the another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.

⇒\triangle ABD \cong \triangle CDB

A drama class has a total of 31 Students. the number of females is 17 less than the number of males. How many males and how many
Anika [276]

Answer:

24 males

7 females

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Write the data</u>

Total number of students: 31

Number of males: x

Number of females: x - 17

<u>Step 2: Form an equation</u>

males + females = total students

x + x - 17 = 31

2x = 48

x = 24

There were 24 males

<u>Step 3: Find the number of females</u>

Number of females = x - 17

Number of females = 24 - 17

Number of females = 7

Therefore, there were 24 males and 7 females in the class.
