Maggie felt uneasy by Dee's presence. Dee prompts feelings of both awe and fear in Maggie. Maggie tries to shuffle quickly out of the house when Dee drives up but she is ordered back by her mother. Both sisters are opposite. While Maggie was shy, lacks confidence and always in the background, Dee seemed to be perfect in everyway.
Maggie inhaling and showing signs of frustration gives the reader a reflection of the conflict that is in existence between these two sisters.
