Answer:

True.

Explanation:

Inductive reasoning is characterized as a method of reasoning in which some premises are given as evidence of the truth of a conclusion (in colloquial terms, premises are particular instances or cases that can build up towards a general conclusion). The conclusion may end up proving to be false; however, this is not known until after the premises have been worked out. In this way, it could be said that a hypothesis, that is to say, the probability of a premise being evidence of the truth of a conclusion, is based on inductive reasoning.

6. In section 1, what does Mather mean by bewitching when he refers to the charges brought against Martha Carrier?
Verdich [7]

Answer:

He means that Carrier has cast a spell on people.

Explanation:

The word "bewitching" was used in the sense of "wearing a charm", so the author shows that Martha Carrier was accused of witchcraft because, according to her accusers, she had the ability to attract them, dominate them and exercise them a power that was evil, like a charm. These accusations were so powerful that they even had the ability to enchant Martha's inquisitors, making them look for more witnesses and until it was impossible to absorb her from the crime for which she was being tried.

Why Everett Ruess is a mystery
-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

One of Utah’s greatest mysteries is the sudden disappearance of a young adventurer named Everett Ruess.

Explanation:

In the 1930’s, Ruess left his home and family after graduating high school to wander alone through the American Southwest. Everett was an explorer, poet, artist, and inspiration who was captivated by the daunting beauty and fury of deserts. He spent many years wandering alone through southern Utah with his two burros, entranced by the looming red rocks and lonely rolling sands. In 1934, at the age of 20, he disappeared into one of Utah’s most desolate places, and his fate remains a mystery.

Well, you're going to talk about the conflicts in The Lottery and The Lady or the Tiger... So... in The Lottery, the main conflict was that the lady (whatever her name was) was chosen to be stoned in the lottery. It wasn't really resolved in anyway, except that she got.. stoned. I haven't read The Lady or the Tiger, but you would do the same thing for that. Then you would state the theme, or moral, or main point, of each story. And then you would compare how the resolutions for both conflicts demonstrate the stories' themes.. Does it make a bit more sense?
