Answer:

1: Football is better than basketball as a sport because it is more exciting with more contact between players and directness. So, you should switch to the football team instead of basketball because it is more exciting.

2: I don't believe that football is better than basketball because football causes more injuries that can last lifetimes while basketball has slightly less contact with other players.

3: He had brown curly hair with bright tan skin. His large blue eyes shone in the sunlight. He was as tall as a pole.

Explanation:

You just have to think of random examples to answer these questions.

For the first one you're supposed to persuade someone to do something. It doesn't even have to be a good argument, you just have to put reasons to prove your argument.

For the second one you have to prove that you don't believe someone. Just imagine what you don't believe in and say what you don't believe that someone is saying and why.

For the third one you just talk about what someone looks like. What kind of hair do they have, curly, soft, long, etc? What skin tone do they have? What is their body type?

You can think of 4 more examples of each of these questions on your own. Just think from your imagination.

An essay on "Welfare of my society depends on my well being"
luda_lava [24]
The welfare of your society depends on your well being because you are the human being that can shape the society you choose to live in, therefore making it your own society. Your well being is the main factor, that includes mental and physical health. If your wellbeing isn't healthy the society you choose to live in will be unhealthy also, same vice versa.

Answer:

Based on word choice, Giblin feels:

B. that it was worthwhile.

Explanation:

We can easily eliminate options A and C, since there is nothing conveying a negative connotation in the excerpt. We are left with options B and D.

Let's take a look at option D first. It says Giblin thinks the process of obtaining copies of the stone was amazing. However, that is not what the word choice conveys. Had there been words such as "fantastic" or "incredible" in the excerpt, this option would have made sense. But that is not the case.

Option B is the only correct one. The excerpt uses words such as "fortunately", "good", and "clear". Those words convey the idea that the process the French used was worthwhile. It not only worked, but worked well, effectively.

1. Which figure of speech is exemplified by lines 149–151 of the excerpt from The Odyssey, Part III?
polet [3.4K]
I think it is personification, because personification means to make non living things sound real, and the lines 149-151 follow that. “The taut gut vibrating hummed and sang a swallow’s note.”
