Give an exponential formula for the number of hiv infections, upper h, (in millions) as a function of years, t, since 1985. Use
ollegr [7]

we can sue formula

P(t)=P_0e^{kt}

where

P(t) is population after t years

P0 is initial population

k is growth rate

t is time in years since 1985

Let's assume

h(t)=P(t) is million

h_0=P_0 in million

we can replace it

and we get

h(t)=h_0e^{kt}..............Answer

A paper cup in the shape of an inverted cone is 8 inches tall and has a radius of 1.5 inches. How much water can the cup hold? U
nika2105 [10]

The amount of water a conical cup can hold will be V=18.84 Cubic inches.

What is Volume?

Volume is defined as the space occupied by any object in the three-Dimensions. All three parameters are required for the volume like length, width and height of the cube and for the cone it will be radius and height.

It is given in the question that:-

Cone is 8 inches tall.

Cone has a radius of 1.5 inches.

The amount of water a cup can carry will be calculated as:-

Volume of cone = (1/3) x π x r² x h

Volume of cone = (1/3) x π x (1.5)² x 8

Volume of cone = 18.8 cubic in.

Hence the amount of water a conical cup can hold will be V=18.84 Cubic inches.

What is the value of x?

x+5     x+1
----- = ------
x          x-2
Artyom0805 [142]
(x+5)/x = (x+1)/(x-2)

(x+5)(x-2) = x(x+1)
x^2 + 3x - 10 = x^2 + 1

x^2 (-x^2) + 3x - 10 (+10) = x^2 (-x^2) + 1 (+10)
3x = 11
3x/3 = 11/3

x = 11/3

hope this helps
