Gretchen's body language, "hand on her hips", and her actions, "looking me up and down", show that Gretchen is sizing up her opponent. However, Gretchen also seems a little hesitant to engage the speaker because she does not say anything. The speaker also does not engage with Gretchen, instead letting Gretchen circle around her.
