Answer:

5 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that A varsity cross-country team runs on a course that makes a right turn after 3 miles, and continues on one mile less than the junior varsity team's course.

The junior varsity team's course runs on a straight line from the same starting point and the finish line.

Refer the attached figure

Let the junior runs course x miles i.e. AC = x

Senior runs 3 miles i.e. BC = 3 miles

Senior continues on one mile less than the junior ie. AB = x-1

Since ΔABC is a right angles triangle

So, Hypotenuse^2=Perpendicular^2+Base^2

AC^2=AB^2+BC^2

x^2=(x-1)^2+3^2

x^2=x^2+1-2x+3^2

0=-2x+10

2x=10

x=\frac{10}{2}

x=5

Thus the junior varsity team's course is 5 miles long.

morty needs $480 to buy a Tv and stereo system for his room. he received $60 in cash for birthday presents. He plans to save $ 3
IgorLugansk [536]

Hey! So this is pretty straightforward. You're given all the information already and now you just have to do some calculations.

60 + 30w = 480

You can start by subtracting 60 from both sides

30w = 420

Now you need to get w by itself so you have to divide both sides by 30 and you will end up getting

w = 14!

It will take him 14 weeks to save up

Answer:$.75 and $1.25

Step-by-step explanation:

X=white chocolate    4x+6y=10.50

y=dark chocolate      8x+3y=9.75

Both deal w/money solve using elimination.

4x+6(1.25)=10.50

4x+7.5==10.50

x=.75

-2(4x+6y=10.50)

8x+3y==9.75

-9y/-9=-11.25/-9

y=1.25

Terry but 34 boxes of chocolate bars and gave 18 of her boxes away to her older brother. If each box has 24 chocolate bars insid
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Terry still have 384 peices of chocolate bars

Solution:

Given that Terry buys 34 boxes of chocolate bars and gave 18 of her boxes away to her older brother

To find: Number of pieces Terry still have

Total boxes with Terry initially = 34 boxes

Now terry has given 18 of her boxes to her older brother

So the boxes now left with Terry is:

boxes left with Terry = Total boxes with Terry initially - number of boxes given to older brother

boxes left with Terry = 34 - 18 = 16

So Terry has 16 boxes left

Each box has 24 chocolate bars inside it

1 box = 24 chocolate bars

So, 16 boxes = 24 x 16 = 384

So Terry has 384 peices of chocolate bars left
