Why citizens should support the government during war?

Answer: Because in a time of war the government puts a lot of money to its troops and spends a lot of money on the war itself. If the government was backed by the people then they would most likely make greater moves that would have been kept secret from the public or just not have happened. Also if the people backed the government financially they would have more money to spend on research and weapons. I hope this makes since:)
