Pollination:
Pollination is a process of fertilization. The pollen is produced by the anther of the stamens in flower. The anther is the swollen part of the stamen. There is a pollen sac which produces the pollen grains. These pollen grains are small coarse substances.
Working process of pollination:
- The small grain are made of one or few cells. They produce male gametes for fertilization.
- Pollination happens combining the male and the female gametes.
- For it to happen the pollen should be linked from the stamen to the stigma and finally it produces seed and fruit.
Homeostasis is an organism's attempt to maintain a stable unchanging interior environment despite external influences. High levels of glucose in the blood affects the homeostasis of a human, as a response insulin is secreted from the pancreas into the bloodstream and directly to organs (mainly the liver). Insulin receptors are cell membrane bound protein receptors, when the insulin receptors are fully functioning insulin will bind to the insulin receptors, this binding sets off a very complex reaction within the cell that will make the cell take actions to reduce the blood-glucose levels. If the insulin receptors are faulty the insulin will never bind to cells and set off these reactions, therefore the blood glucose level will remain high. A high blood glucose level is dangerous and will result in hyperglycemia and death if untreated. Diabetes is not normally caused by faulty insulin receptors although the body would react very similarly to a diabetes patient if the insulin receptors were faulty.

How does a new hypothesis replace an older explanation of something in the natural world? To understand this let us look at one of the classical example of geocentric theory and heliocentric theory. The geocentric theory states the Earth is at the centre of the solar system and the Sun, Moon, and all the other planets revolve around it. This ancient theory failed to explain the phenomenon like the phases of Moon, solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. The modern heliocentric theory which states that the Sun is at the centre of solar system, and all the planets including the Earth revolve around it. This theory was able to explain all the phenomenons unlike the geocentric theory. Hence the heliocentric theory replaced the geocentric theory.
