When Calcium Oxide (Quick lime) reacts with water, it is a very rigorous reaction that produces a lot of heat and may even boil the water or burn the skin if it comes into contact with it. The resulting compound is Calcium Hydroxide. The Assertion is therefore true.

A Combination reaction does indeed result in only a single product being created or formed after a reaction. The above reaction is indeed a Combination reaction due to the production of only one Compound being Calcium Hydroxide.
