Herman is 42 years old and tends to have very few friends. Whenever he develops a new friendship, he invariably loses it quickly
because he begins to accuse the "friend" of trying to take advantage of him. He constantly sees conspiracies where none exist and is forever on guard against people trying to hurt or abuse him. Paranoid personality disorder is the disorder in which a person tends to mistrust others, doubt others intention, motives,loyalty etc, believes people have suspicious behavior and thoughts and show anger and social detachment .These beliefs arise from suffering persons' mind even though there is no reason to doubt others.
According to the question, Herman is suffering from paranoid personality disorder as he doubts his friends motive that they have hidden intention of hurting him or some other suspicious behavior against him.He has few friends because of this falsely accusing behavior .
If i were in this situation, I wouldn't use things such as violence, weapons, etc. I would prepare myself for this kind of situation and take self defense lessons, as to where I could stop the intruder but not hurt them. I would also install a goood security system, like locks and cameras.
