I believe the answer is: 1) Automation is replacing human workers with mechanical or electronic devices.

According to most economic experts, automation seems to be unavoidable and would create several economic advantages or disadvantages.

One advantage is that it would reduce the cost of production that would make products become cheaper, and one disadvantage of automation is that it would cause a huge number of unemployment.

Automation is replacing human workers with mechanical or electronic devices.

Further Explanation:

Automation is basically the process of reduction of the efforts and the human errors by means of scientific knowledge and the replacing the human errors by means of highly accurate machineries.

The use of the machineries leads to the reduction in the repetition of the work with high accuracy. On the other hand, applying scientific knowledge to fond the solution to the problems is termed as the Engineering.

The use of more resources in order to manufacture more goods efficiently is termed as the product efficiency. The efficient use of the product saves the wastage of the resources but this cannot be related to automation.

The automation is the reducing the human work and replacing it by highly accurate machines and it is completely opposite of the statement ‘hiring workers from all over the world to manufacture goods’.

The automation can also be explained as the use of untiring machinery that does not require any break or rest and can keep working repeatedly with a very high accuracy which is a very big problem to work with the human force.
