Now, when the speaker finishes his thought on line 12, he's not actually being mean at all, just stating the facts. His mistress isn't a goddess, she doesn't fly or soar or float along. She just walks (treads) like a normal person, on the ground.

Why is the National benchmark important in the university application process ..two reasons
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

The National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) are assessments for first-year applicants into higher education institutions. The NBTs were designed to measure a writer's ability to transfer understanding of Academic Literacy, Quantitative Literacy and Mathematics to the demands of tertiary coursework.

The NBTs also help to interpret your NSC results and can be used by universities in different ways. Some use them to help make decisions about your access/application to university. This means that your NBT results, in combination with your matric results, are used to determine whether you are ready for academic study.

Read the excerpt from Amir's argumentative essay.
nika2105 [10]

The evidence that the author used to support faulty analogy in the text is some people talk to their plants to help them grow

According to the excerpt, the narrator talks about plants and hamsters and their similarities and differences. He deceptively compares them by saying that a hamster requires attention from its owner, usually by talking, but plants cando fine without needing anybody to talk to them.

Faulty analogy is a type of fallacy that makes use of deceptive comparisons to attempt to prove a point.

Therefore, the evidence that the author used to support faulty analogy in the text is some people talk to their plants to help them grow
