A frog has a genetic mutation in its skin cells that causes part of its skin to turn orange. The frog will not pass this genetic

mutation onto its offspring because
parents do not contribute genetic material to their offspring.

skin cells do not contribute genetic material to sex cells.

mutated skin cells cannot divide and produce daughter skin cells.

the offspring will inherit skin cells from the other parent.

Answer : The correct answer is -

skin cells do not contribute genetic material to sex cells.

Sex cells are the haploid, reproductive cells (also known as gametes, such as sperms and egg) that are produced by parents through gametogenesis (oogenesis in female and spermatogenesis in male).

They are crucial for reproduction in sexually reproducing organisms (like humans) as they fuse together and form a diploid zygote (containing the genetic material of each parent) which develops into fetus.

On the other hand, skin cells are the somatic cells (that are diploid) and do not contribute in the reproductive cycle.

This means that their genetic material is not contributed to the sex cells.

Thus, the frog with genetic mutation in its skin cells will not pass it to the offspring.

I think it is A as well because skin cells do not contribute genetic material to sex cells.

Answer:

Yes.

Explanation:

Yes, a tree is falling over in a forest make a sound because both the tree and ground are hard surfaces which can produces sound by contact physically with each other. For testing this hypothesis, we have to take a tree and cut that tree. when the tree falls on the ground it will definitely produces sounds by contact physically with the ground when falls with a large force.

This has to do with blind spots: What parts of the eye are involved with this inability to see? How do these eye parts function?
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer:

  • Blindspot
  • It has a vital role. It is the only way out of the optic nerve. By this hole optic nerve exits from the eye and goes towards the brain.
  • It can be proved by a simple experiment. A paper sheet is taken. Then a cross and a circle are drawn side by side on that paper. Then we will focus on the cross. Then by closing one eye and by bringing the paper slowly towards our face, the circle will be disappeared at a certain point.

Explanation:

The blind spot is a region on the retina where ganglion cells connect with the optic nerve, and the optic nerve and blood vessels leave the eyeball. There are no receptors in this area so nothing can be translated into vision. That's why the blind spot is unable to see things.

Ray Of Light [21]

Explanation:

(3) active transport

The molecules would be moving against their concentration gradient from a region of low concentration to a region of high concentration.

While cells facilitate the transport of molecules via movement across the cell membrane, there many different mechanisms. These include passive diffusion, facilitated diffusion,  and passive transport. However some very large molecules require specialized type of active transport, which requires energy in the form of ATP, in order to move substances across the membrane against their concentration gradient.

Active transport is a mediated process that requires an energy input and the use of specialized membrane proteins to move against the concentration gradient. These proteins require energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate or ATP in order to facilitate necessary conformational changes to the large protein molecules to alter the spatial location of the molecule. For instance, with Na+, K+ pumps in cell membranes.
