URGENT!!! What was Phillis Wheatley's Purpose, Occasion, Audience, and Genre?
kirill [66]

Answer: Occasion is why the author started writing it in the first place. Like, I wanted to write about leaves today because I was so busy crunching them. Olaudah Equiano wrote about slavery because people didn't know about it, and as a slave he had a unique perspective. Purpose is why an author wrote about it, why it was important to him. I think you can figure that out for most of these authors. Audience is who the author wrote it for. Equiano wrote for the upperclass, people who thought slavery was harmless and humane.

lyudmila [28]

The implicit meaning in the line "now I'm someone who watches tractor pulls on obscure cable channels" is that, though an Indian immigrant, in some ways she feels very integrated into American society. The main contextual clue in the line is "tractor pulls" because tractor pulling is a kind of competition that one would not think is popular in India, but it is kind of motorsport competition that is popular in the United States. The fact that the speaker is watching this competitions on cable channels lets the reader know that she has adopted some american cultural customs.

Jobisdone [24]

Answer:

I see the sunlight dappled on the hill,

A balmy afternoon in the late Spring,

I hear the sweet beautiful birdsong still;

It's a time when all the birds sweetly sing!

And the meadows of flowers sweetly blow,

They perfume the air with fragrance so sweet,

Sometimes at evening when I walk slow;

I stop to see those flowers at my feet.

I stop and stoop to smell their dear sweetness,

For they are filled with everlasting grace,

For sometimes they will my fair cheeks caress;

And brush their petals up against my face.

I admire they're so very sweet beauty,

They are a very fond treasure to see!

Explanation:

hope this works :).
