ew generation of Americans—born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage—and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world. According to President Kennedy in his Inaugural Address, what is America’s role regarding human rights? The protection of human rights has always been and continues to be one of America’s essential duties. The United States is committed to the slow undoing of human rights at home and around the world. The protection of human rights was accomplished by fighting and winning World War II. The United States once protected human rights, but now the rest of the world needs to take over the fight.

Answer:

The protection of human rights has always been and continues to be one of America’s essential duties.

Explanation:

In his 1961 Inaugural Speech, President John Fitzgerald Kennedy focuses on what it means to be an American at the time. He focuses on imploring the people of America to continue the fight for justice, holding on to the shared belief of peace and unity among everyone.

In the given excerpt from the speech, he reiterated how the fight of upholding the peace of maintaining human rights will always be the first and foremost duty of every American citizen. He boldly claims states <em>"let the word go forth from this time and place to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans"</em>. This new generation of Americans will continue the work of preventing<em> "the slow undoing of [the] human rights to which this Nation had always been committed, [not only at home but] around the world"</em>. This means that <u>America has always been and will continue to work to do protect human rights and take it as one of her essential duties. </u>

marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

Speech about artificial boundaries can not divide the natural affinity among people.

Speech:

It is undeniably true that human bonds has no boundaries. A relationship between two individuals cannot be altered or severed  by any human made territory. Though artificial boundaries may divide people into two or more territorial groups, the affinities among humans will always transcend such distinctions.

There is a unique characteristic in humanity that unities us in our diversity. There is a natural tendency within humans that makes us embrace each other regardless of territorial, racial or political differences.

It is an innate quality that each one of us has to unlock. Once we unlock this quality, we start to embrace one another and live in harmony with each other. Many a times human connections and bonds have proved to overcome territorial differences. In many instances, one can find that people living in border areas live with one another in harmony despite of political and territorial distinctions between them.

Therefore, the need to embrace one another is very important in order to prove that affinity among humans unite us ever in our diversity.
