What is the arc measure of abc in degrees

Mathematics

<u>Given</u>:

The measure of arc AB is (4y + 6)°

The measure of arc BC is (20y - 11)°

The measure of arc AC is (7y - 7)°

We need to determine the measure of arc ABC.

<u>Value of y:</u>

The value of y is given by

m \widehat{AB}+m \widehat{BC}+ m \widehat{AC}=360

Substituting the values, we get;

4y+6+20y-11+7y-7=360

Adding the like terms, we have;

31y-12=360

Adding both sides of the equation by 12, we have;

31y=372

   y=12

Thus, the value of y is 12.

<u>Measure of arc ABC:</u>

The measure of arc ABC can be determined by adding the measure of arc AB and arc BC.

Thus, we have;

m \widehat{ABC}=m \widehat{AB}+ m \widehat{BC}

m \widehat{AB}+m \widehat {BC}=4y+6+20y-11

                      =24y-5

Substituting y = 12, we get;

m \widehat{AB}+m \widehat {BC}=24(12)-5

                      =288-5

m \widehat{AB}+m \widehat {BC}=283^{\circ}

Thus, the measure of arc ABC is 283°

1. find the area of the two triangles, including the shaded section. the formula for this is a=1/2bh

the height and base are both 24 inches. this is because you add the 10 from the side of the square to the 14 that is given

so:

a=1/2(24)(24)
a=(12)(24)
a=288 sq. inches

since there are two triangles, you would multiply the area by 2

a=2(288)
a=576 sq. inches

now, since you only need the unshaded section, you have to take away the shaded section, which is a square. to do this, you must calculate the area of the square and take it away from the area of both triangles.

a=576-(lw)
a=576- (10)(10)
a=576-100
a=476 sq. inches

that is your answer

A hat is originally priced at $28 is on sale for $15% off. What is the total cost of the hat if the tax is 6.75%?
vampirchik [111]
You do 28, which is the original cost, then you take that 15% off to do that you multiply 28×.15 and you get 4.2 and subtract that from original cost and you get 23.8 then to get the cost after tax you do 23.8×.0675 and you get 1.6 then you add that to 23.8 and get 25.4 dollars

Answer:

8)  Onaje is correct

9a) answers could be:  3(6y) or 4y + 6y + 8y  or 2(2y + 3y + 4y)

 b) all answers simplify to be 18y

Step-by-step explanation:

Paula is not correct because 16t + 9t ≠ 16 + 9 + 2t

16t + 9t only equals 25t
