Answer:

=2 7/12 is needed on sunday

Step-by-step explanation:

Friday + Saturday + Sunday = total time studying

1 1/4 + 2 2/3 + sunday = 6 1/2

Get a common denominator of 12

1/4*3/3 =3/12

2/3 *4/4 =8/12

1/2 *6/6=6/12

1 3/12   + 2 8/12 + sunday = 6 6/12

Combine terms

3 11/12 + sunday = 6 6/12

Subtract 3 11/12 from each side

3 11/12  - 3 11/12 + sunday = 6 6/12 - 3 11/12

sunday =  6 6/12 - 3 11/12

Borrow 1 from 6 in the form of 12/12

sunday =  5 + 12/12+ 6/12 - 3 11/12

            = 5 18/12 - 3 11/12

             =2 7/12

Ax + by = 12
MAXImum [283]

Answer:
There is no value of a/b because the system has infinitely many solutions.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that there is no solution because, when we solve for x and y, we get x = 12 and y = -6. This means that there are infinitely many solutions because we can plug in any value for a and b and still get a correct answer.

At the grocery store, Lily spent m dollars on milk, twice that amount on fruit, and 6 dollars less than 3 times the amount spent
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

The amount of money Lily had when she left the store, in terms of m, is 86 - 6m

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

m = Milk Lily purchased

2m = Fruit Lily purchased (twice that amount on fruit)

3m - 6 = Bread Lily purchased (6 dollars less than 3 times the amount spent on milk for bread)

Amount of money Lily entered = $ 80

2. How much money did Lily have when she left? Write your answer in terms of m.

Let's write the equation to find out the money left in terms of m, this way:

Money left = 80 - m - 2m - (3m - 6)

Money left = 80 - m - 2m - 3m + 6

Money left = 86 - 6m

The amount of money Lily had when she left the store, in terms of m, is 86 - 6m
