There is also flooding, which adds another problem for the people witnessing the storm, they may even need to evacuate where they were taking shelter. Allot of people just leave until the hurricane has passed, but few stay, board up their windows, stay inside usually in a basement or closet (its best to stay away from windows or doors), and if flooding occurs they should turn off the electricity breaker.
