I need help with number 3 in the picture. Not sure how to answer! I hate having to explain how you solve math...you just do! Thanks in advance.

There were 14 bees in one place and 17 in the other each have their own square and in total there is 31

For number 3 say that the first box shows how many bees in the hive and the second box shows how many bees in the garden and then you solve 14 plus 17 which is 31 and that goes in the line under the two boxes.
