Why doesn't Odysseus stab polyphemus the first night while the Cyclops sleepsm

Odysseus must have thought about killing Polyphemus but rejected the idea for at least one reason. The main reason would have been that it was nearly impossible to murder the giant because they had no adequate means of doing it. If they had tried to stab Polyphemus with a sharpened stake, they might have only wounded him.

Hey there!

Odysseus does not stab Polyphemus, the Cyclops, because if he does, he will be trapped in the cave along with some of his men. A boulder is blocking the cave exit, and the Cyclops is the only thing strong enough to move it.

I hope this helps!

In paragraph 2, what does the phrase “I’ve studied whiteness the way I would a foreign language” suggest about Conley?
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

This phrase by Conley shows that white people do not bother about the implications of the privileges they get as 'whites' in the memoir "Honkey" by Dalton Conley.

Explanation:

Dalton Conley in this memoir describes how race and class shaped his life and how their are inequalities in American society. He shows the privileges of being white and the power of education. This story depicts how culture plays an important role when it comes to class and race. He grew up as a white boy of Bohemian parents in an African American neighborhood. Dalton surrounded by non whites made him realize the true meaning of being 'white' through his experiences.

Type the address in the proper form.
djverab [1.8K]

Answer:

<em>Upper left corner:</em>

Bill Jones

000 Elm Avenue

Hometown, IA 00000

<em>In the center:</em>

Ms. Sally R. Hansen

Manager of the credit department

Fleming's Department Store

1234 Fourth Avenue, Hometown, Iowa 54321

Explanation:

So when writing a letter there are few rules to follow. Addresses are written on the backside of an envelope. In the upper left corner, we write the sender`s address. It is written in separate lines. First line contains the name of the sender, the next line contains his address. In the next line, we write town, state and ZIP code.

The recipient`s address is written in the center of the backside. It is also written in separate lines. First line contains the name, next line contains the title (if we know the title). Next line contains a workplace. These two lines are written if we write a business letter. Next line contains the address with the town, state and ZIP code. If the address is too long, we write this in two separate lines (street, name and number in the first line and the rest in the second).
