D. Most of the water is absorbed by soil and plants and doesn't reach the water table. However, the source of water in thento  water table is definitely from surface water but as it percolates into the ground, if it is a porous rocky or gravelly surface it should show up as perhaps a ssimilar amount of water, but if it goes through soil with more silt and clay and with tree roots, then some of it will get absorbed.
