In recent years, scientists have collected data on populations of Adelie and Gentoo penguins. Adelie penguins are ice dependent.

They rely on sea ice as a foraging platform for feeding on prey such a krill and fish, while Gentoo penguins are considered ice-intolerant. How does the data in the graph support or refute the theory of global climate change?

Answer: Cant give a solid answer if theres no graph attached.

Explanation: My guess if it was a downward trend in population numbers with a downward trend in ice cap sizes or something, it would support global climate change because it shows the shrinkage of the population that is resulting from melting ice caps.

What would happen to the possible variation in gametes if the number of chromosome pairs increased from two to three? What if th
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

The correct answer is: it would create a polyploidy.

Explanation:

Polyploidy consists of an organism or a cell having more than 2 pairs of chromosomes, which in most species (including humans) is abnormal and not compatible with life.

An organism with 3 sets of chromosomes -69 in total- (instead of 46) has a triploidy. In humans, this happens when there's an extra haploid set from one of the parents.

An organism with 4 sets of chromosomes -92 in total- has tetraploidy.

These polyploidies result in miscarriage.

State why telescopes that detect non-optical radiation are useful for studying objects in space.
Orlov [11]
Because radiation goes a long way. Radiation itself isn't visable but if it's from a nearby star you'll be able to see the star. Radiation keeps moving outwards forever. Things that can sense radiation that you can't see will help you have an idea how far away the source of that radiation is from
