B. proof reading, she revised the draft, and moved the paragraphs around, now she needs to proof read it to know if it is better or not before she starts typing it up.

We can eliminate A due to the fact it tells us directly in the question she; "she then revised the draft,..." moving on the B proof reading is the LAST steep in the editing process and we can assume that she isnt on the steep before the last because drafts come before final copies. It also states she:"REVISED the draft,..." so that rules out C due to the fact that is editing so...our best bet here is D. Typing.

Answer:

3. The excerpt is an example of situational irony, as Jim has sold the watch for which Della bought a chain.

Explanation:

Irony is the use of language in such a way that the intended meaning of the words is expressed through the use of another opposite expression or words. This rhetorical device presents a situation as something but what the reality is, is a much different thing.

In the given excerpt from O Henry's short story The Gift of the Magi, the scene is that of situational irony. Situational irony occurs when the expected outcome is not what happened but rather the opposite happens. Likewise, the scene is a situational irony for both the characters of Jim and Della wanted to please each other with their gifts. But both ended up selling the very thing that the other person has bought the gift for. Della sold her hair to buy a watch chain for Jim while Jim sold his watch to buy an ornamental comb for Della's hair.

Thus, the correct answer is the third option.

In which sentence are quotation marks used to correctly punctuate a title?
AnnZ [28]
No. because the quotations are BEFORE the period. Some titles have periods, so that's fine, but it's not supposed to be "titanic." it's supposed to be "Titanic".

Answer:

It shows that the Lins have successfully hosted their American friends.

Explanation:

"The All American Slurp" by Lensey Namioka is about the Lin family adjusting to their new atmosphere of America. The whole family of four had moved from China to America and were starting to re-establish their lives. The daughter of the family is the narrator where she describes various instances of her family trying to be American in their living.

The above excerpt shows the time when thy had invited some Chinese friends for dinner, along with their neighbors, the Gleason family. The narrator was friends with their daughter Meg. And it was this occasion that is mentioned. This event shows that the Lins had successfully hosted their American friends. The Gleasons had previously invited them for dinner which turns out not so successful for they had no idea how or what to eat. But this time, the success of the meal is evident in the way their guests were after the dinner.

Imagine that you saw a horse struggling to pull a heavy cart and you called an animal rights organizations to save the animal. M
mr_godi [17]
As an animal right activist I witnessed something inhumane and outright disgusting earlier. As I was walking home I saw this horse who was struggling against his bounds trying his hardest to move this heavy cart. The cart was very obviously too heavy for the horse as the horse was in obvious distress and pain. I immediately dialed the number to our towns animal rights organization and told them of the abuse I had just witnessed. I then made sure to take pictures of the incident for if I had to testify against the animal abusers. It amazes and horrifies me the extent people view Animals as nothing but tools to further their personal gain. I hope the abusers end up in jail or at least with a hefty fine and I pray the poor innocent animals will be taken to someone who will love and care for the wonderful creature.
