The basic fundamental is to understand the concept. Romanticism focused upon imagination, fantasy, nature, and simplicity. In fact, by looking at the word, the word Romantics was derived from "romance" which was a medieval lyrical poetic form, usually anonymous, dealing with epic and fantasy, and unrealistic topics. This was almost more or less similar to the Greek mythologies.
This term applied to the 18th century artists and poems because they were imaginative and rejected the use or rigorous and artificial words. They depended on the emotions and these expressed how they thought or felt.
