Answer:

A. fighting for independence.

Explanation:

They were battling for independence.  Many of soldiers from the South had deep roots in their states.  Many felt strongly about guarding their rights and trusted the Union was meddling with their rights.

In any case, the North had more labor and industry.  When Generals like Grant, Sheridan and Sherman tagged along, the North changed the tide and won the war.

The fighting spirit of the Southerners stemmed from the fact that they were A: fighting for independence. The same way that the Revolutionary War galvanized the population of the British Colonies in the 1770s, the Southern Secession was viewed as fighting for the Southern way of life.

How would you judge Samuel Slater and Francis Lowell, who brought secrets to the United States illegally?
Harlamova29_29 [7]
Well they both helped to modernize/industrialize the U.S, so it depends which view point you would like to take. They stole the plans from england, who had successfully monopolized industrialization for almost a century, who would be upset at this loss of control and therefore business. However an American would probably be thankful for the industry that blossomed as a result of these actions.

The kind of primary source document that I find most interesting to analyze are diaries, because I like to see someone's perspective on a subject or time period. It can be quite interesting and gives me a first hand look on a matter through someone else's eyes and opinions.
I hoped that helped, I always enjoy getting brainliest when possible!
