firstly you divide both sides of the equation by a, this way the a will cancel it self out of the equation

x+b= c/a

then you take '+b' to the other side of the equation over the = sign, this makes +b sign to change it then becomes -b

2. 7(x-a)=b

you divide both sides of the equation by 7.

x-a=b/7

then you take -a to the other side of the equation it becomes +a

x=b/7+a
