importance of Following Instructions Paying attention, following instructions, and listening are some of the most important skills you will need to get through life and especially a career or school. Not having these particular skills could result in some consequences in your life. So you should always take careful steps and know what you are supposed to do and what is best. The world would be in complete chaos if no one ever followed instructions. This is why rules and laws are made, so our world can run smoothly and become a better place. The same principles apply to the classroom and school. In order for the classroom to be a good learning environment it has to have organization.

The teacher could also talk to you after class or call your parents. But not paying attention in class affects you the most when what the teacher is saying is about a certain assignment. You could end up not knowing what to do on that assignment. This in turn could affect your grade. Also if you don't follow direct instructions from the teacher it is very possible to do things wrong. Not paying attention or following directions does not just affect you or the teacher but your classmates too.

Acknowledge what the instructor is saying as they say it. Sitting still will help with focusing and not being disruptive. Being engaged in the conversation is also helpful with focusing and it lets the teacher know you care about what they are talking about. It is also important for you to try your best to avoid any distractions that could cause you to lose focus. Another good habit is to take notes or use good body language and posture of your own to let the teacher know you are listening. Following directions and listening is one of the main aspects of being in a classroom and it is what the teacher will expect of you. If you use these skills and be attentive it will help you to be successful in school. Also you can prevent from any consequences that may be given to you or your classmates. ...
