Natural Selection Type Chart

Theories about height as a trait, the height of individuals in a population will vary, and most individuals have an average height and fewer are very short or very high.

Further Explanation

The effect of stochastic variations on demographic levels (reproduction and death) is much higher for small populations than for large ones. Stochastic variations in demographic levels cause small populations to fluctuate in random sizes.

The environment can directly affect the survival of small populations. Some adverse effects include stochastic variations in the environment, (year-to-year variations in rainfall, temperature) that can produce temporarily correlated birth and death rates (ie 'good' years when birth rates are high and mortality rates are low and 'bad' years when low birth rate and high mortality rate) which causes fluctuations in population size.

Island populations often also have small populations due to geographical isolation, limited habitat and high levels of endemism. Because their environment is very isolated, gene flow is poor in island populations. Without recognition of genetic diversity from gene flow, the alleles are quickly repaired or lost. This reduces the ability of island populations to adapt to new conditions and can lead to higher extinction rates.

Which specific subdivision of the nervous system calms the body after strenuous physical activity?
7nadin3 [17]
The answer to this question would be: parasympathetic division

Parasympathetic nervous is part of the autonomous nervous system. In the autonomous nervous system, the sympathetic system is used when you enter the "fight or flight" mode. In this case, the body will be prepared to be able to take a decision as quickly as possible in a strenuous state. The nervous also cause an increase in the heart and breathing rate to increase body capability.
Parasympathetic is the opposite of it which was activated to calm the body so it can maintain the normal body function.

The takeaway

What is blood sugar?

Blood sugar, also known as blood glucose, comes from the food you eat. Your body creates blood sugar by digesting some food into a sugar that circulates in your bloodstream.

Blood sugar is used for energy. The sugar that isn’t needed to fuel your body right away gets stored in cells for later use.

Too much sugar in your blood can be harmful. Type 2 diabetes is a disease that’s characterized by having higher levels of blood sugar than what’s considered within normal limits.

Unmanaged diabetes can lead to problems with your heart, kidneys, eyes, and blood vessels.

The more you know about how eating affects blood sugar, the better you can protect yourself against diabetes. If you already have diabetes, it’s important to know how eating affects blood sugar.
