The equation would be y=2x+5

For 150 miles driven,the cost would be 305 dollars.

150×2 would be 300 and then you would add 5.

mafiozo [28]

Answer:

Yes

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply one eqution so that they are same.

For example:

2x+17y+48=0

x+8y-6=0    --> multiply 2 times, so  2x+16y-12=0

and now you can use it as if they are coefficients for both variables

Answer:

  (a)  8 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Let m represent the distance (in kilometers) Michelle has walked. Then Janet walked a distance of (m-2). These distances are at right angles, so the distance between them can be found using the Pythagorean theorem.

  m² +(m -2)² = 10²

  m² +m² -4m +4 = 100

  2m² -4m = 96 . . . . . . subtract 4, collect terms

  m² -2m +1 = 49 . . . . . divide by 2 and add 1

  (m -1)² = 7² . . . . . . .write as squares

  m -1 = 7 . . . . . . positive square root

  m = 8

Michelle walked 8 km.

A weighted die comes up spots with the following probabilities: Spots 1 2 3 4 5 6 Probability 0.10 0.15 0.20 0.25 0.20 0.10 If t
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

Probability (A sum of 10)=0.1025

Step-by-step explanation:

\begin{center}\begin{tabular}{ c c c c c c c } Spots & 1 & 2& 3 & 4& 5 & 6 \\ \\Prob & 0.10 & 0.15& 0.20 & 0.25& 0.20 & 0.10     \end{tabular}\end{center}

To find the Probability the sum is 10, we can either have

i. a 4 and a 6

ii. a 5 and a 5

Pr (A AND B) = Pr (A) x Pr(B)

Pr (A OR B) = Pr (A) + Pr(B)

Probability (A sum of 10) = Pr(getting a 4 AND a 6) OR Pr(getting a 5 AND a 5)

=(0.25 x 0.25)+(0.20 x 0.20)

=0.0625+0.04

=0.1025

The sum of two integers is - 5. The product of the same two integers is - 36. What are the two integers?
Effectus [21]

Hey there!!

Given :

Sum of two integers = -5 and the product is -36.

Hence,

... x + y = -5

... xy = -36

x + y = -5

... y = -x - 5

xy = -36

...x ( -x - 5 ) = -36

... -x² - 5x = -36

... x² + 5x - 36 = 0

This can't be factored so solve using quadratic equation

x = [-b ±√(b2-4ac)]/2a      a=1, b=5, c = -36

x = [-5±√(52-4(-36))]/2

x = [-5 ±√169]/2

x = (-5 ± 13)/2

x = (-5+13)/2= 8/2 = 4  OR

x = (-5-13)/2 = -18/2 = -9

x = 4, -9

Note here that since x+y=-5

For x=4, y=-9

for x = -9, y = 4

The two numbers are 4, -9

Hope my answer helps!!
