Lamonte buys 9 gallons of ice cream for his party. He has 34 guests eats 2 1/2 cups of ice cream, how many pints of ice cream wi
AlekseyPX
There are 16 cups in a gallon. Convert gallons into cups:

9 * 16 = 144

34 guests ate 2 and 1/2 cups of ice cream. To find the total amount of ice cream they ate, multiply the cups eaten by each guest by the amount of guests.

34 * 2 \frac{1}{2} = 85

Subtract the total amount the guests ate by the amount of cups provided.

144 - 85 = 59

There are 2 cups in a pint. To convert cups into pints, divide the cups by 2.

59 / 2 = 29 \frac{1}{2}

There are 29 and a half pints of ice cream left over from the party.

A number multiplied by itself and then by itself again gives 1000. What is the number?
sergij07 [2.7K]
It is 10 because 10 to the 3rd power or 10 cubed or 10 x 10 x 10 is equal to 1,000. 10 x 10 = 100 and 100 x 10 = 1,000.
