Answer:

Option B, Some organisms have a higher reproductive success than others.

Explanation:

Over production is a scenario where an individual produce more than the normal offspring which enhances the survival rate of the newly born species.

Genetic variation causes genetic evolution which lead to development of individuals that are able enough to cope up with the existing environmental condition.

Both over production and genetic variation are leading to  higher rate of survival of a newly borne individual and hence causes higher reproductive success.

Option B is correct

Overproduction is a natural phenomenon in which the number of produced offspring is higher than the number of individuals the ecosystem can sustain. Thus, competition for limited resources occurs.

Because of the genetic variation, the organisms within a population have different chances to reproduce. Most often, some organisms have a lower reproductive success than others do.

The number of individuals with a high reproductive success is rather low as few males are very successful at passing on their genetic material.

The number of organisms with no reproductive success is also very low, as these "ill adapted" individuals will disappear from the population extremely quickly.

Genetic variation is the amount of differences between individuals. Thus, no organism taken by itself has any genetic variation.

A recessive mutant allele of an autosome gene in a species of mouse results in a shorted tail in males when homozygous. However,
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

sexual chromosome linked characteristics

Explanation:

The sexual crhomosomes are XX (for females) and XY (for males).

The Y chromosome have less genes than the x, because of this, some characteristics are expressed at males and not at females.

Males has only one copy of the gen, carried by the only X chromosome (in this case, the leght of the tail). Nevertheless the females have two copies of the gen, (short and long tail).

So, the fenotype resulting is a dominant characterisitic related to x chomosome (long tail).
