Athens could be called a limited democracy.

It would be a full democracy if it were the case that women would have had a voting right and slaves would also have had a voting right. This, however, wasn't the case and for that reason we cannot say that Athens was a full democracy.

  • They were not allowed to marry until their fighting days are not over.
  • They were supposed to be always on foot and active to fight the danger.
