Sodium is usually found in body fluids around cells and in the blood. Sodium assist in keeping body fluid in a normal balance . It also plays a major role in nerve impulse transmission and muscle function.

Sodium also help to maintain blood volume and blood pressure. It is very important in osmotic pressure of the cells.  Major sources of sodium includes breads, sandwich, eggs, chicken, cheese, omelet etc.
