How does the contractile vacuole in a single-celled organism function to maintain homeostasis?

Biology

Answer:

It pumps water out of the cell; as water enters the organism's cells via osmosis (diffusion of water), the contractile vacuole acts very much like a pump to allow water to exit the organism; without it the organism would die. Also, homeostasis is maintained in this manner; all it means is a condition of stability.

Describe how the capillaries are adapted to allow this process to happen efficiently.
Svetach [21]
Capillaries are one cell thick and so this makes them very thin. capillaries are also arranged in networks known as capillary beds, and thus multiple capillaries are spread over a large area.

What are the origins of replication in eukaryotic cells in each chromosome?
Irina-Kira [14]
Hi there!

The cell theory states that all cells can make duplicates of themselves. They do this by dividing themselves in half, until they are two cells.

The cell which divides itself in half is called the parent cell, and the cells that are produced from this are called daughter cells.

The origin of the cell, would most likely be the parent cells.

Hope this helps!
