CAD is the abbreviation for Computer Aided Drawing or Drafting.  It is used by architects to create their drawings electronically.  Prior to CAD software, architects needed to make all of their drawings by hand.  CAD has made an architect’s job much easier because they can electronically draw much quicker and more efficiently than doing it by hand.
