The correct answer is A) Buddhism.

These statements are key to the belief system of Buddhism.

We are referring to the four noble truths of Buddhism. Dukkha or the truth of suffering. Samudaya or the origin of suffering. Nirodha or the cessation of suffering, And Magga, the truth of the path to the cessation of suffering. These four truths represent the essential teachings of Buddhism. Tradition says that Buddha came up with these truths while he was in deep meditation below a tree.

Great britain’s success in the battle of britain and the soviet defense of russia proved that hitler’s army could be .
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

defeated

Explanation:

The German army, one on one was superior in Europe, and if that was the case in all the battles, then the outcome of the war would probably have been different. The Germans though were fighting in numerous fronts, which made their army much more dispersed and weaker. Even like this, the Germans still managed to win most of the battles, but once they came to fight oppositions with greater military power or numbers, they failed because of their dispersal. Great Britain managed to defend successfully from the Germans, while on the other side of the continent the Russians, helped by the weather as well, managed to stand up to the Germans and defeat them. This showed the world that the German army can be defeated, and it was great motivation for further attacks by the Allies in the period to come.

Which of the following is true about Greek democracy? select all that apply
anzhelika [568]

The correct answers are "It grew out of work of a statesman named Solon".

Solon wanted to promote a system that pushed equality and active participation from all citizens in government. He gave Athenians the right of serving in assembly gatherings. These changes represented a significant cange of paradigm to a certain extent towards democracy in Greece.

Every citizen of Athens who owned some kind of property was able to participate in the assembly. Even though you were poor, you could still own a house and be able to serve politically,

Athenians who were in a situation of debt, were restrained from voting but they weren't enslaved. The only slaves they had at the time were foreign.

All males who owned property were free to serve but not obligated.

You could say Greek democracy set things up for an improvement towards political equality, but still continues to be seen as a sort of "collective tyranny". Political decisions were made by majority vote, and this often led to the poor overpassing common welfare, rendering the system a false democracy. So even though Greek democracy did push many advances, it also had plenty of crucial flaws it couldn't overcome.

Hope this helps!

Read the passage from The Importance of Being Earnest.
dangina [55]

Answer:

-Lady Bracknell says her maid is trustworthy but has to bribe her to get help.

-The names of the college and class seem reasonable to Gwendolen’s father.

-Lady Bracknell says it is wrong to be honest with her husband.

Explanation:

These three statements are meant to poke fun at the logic, or lack thereof, of Victorian society. They all use humour in order to portray a significant flaw in their society. In the first statement, Bracknell explains that her maid is trustworthy. However, she was still able to be bought by means of a small coin, which makes the statement ridiculous. The second sentence is similarly ironic. The name of the college and class are ludicrous, and they poke fun at the importance the characters give to money. However, these were reasonable to Gwendolen's father. Finally, Lady Bracknell is deceitful and dishonest with her husband, which she sees as a quality. This is similarly ridiculous, and it pokes fun at the dishonesty that was common in social relations during this time period.
