Fill in the blanks to complete the sentences. Puritanism the wealth, power, and authority of Catholicism and the Church of Engla
mina [271]

Puritanism <em>rejected</em> the wealth, power, and authority of Catholicism and the Church of England.

(Puritans did not accept the Catholic Church as authority in the 16th and 17th centuries)

Puritans adopted the basic principles of <em>Calvinism</em>.

(since "predestination" which Puritans fostered, was one of the reforms made by Calvinism to Christianity)

Puritans also believed in the concept of <em>"Original Sin"</em>.

<em>(Christian concept that Puritans kept as one of their core beliefs).</em>

The theme of this poem is best expressed by the following statement:
Galina-37 [17]

The answer is option B.

In Emily Dickenson's poem "An Awful Tempest Mashed The Air," the theme expresses that bad times only last a little while.

At first, a terrible storm is described, which covers heaven and Earth. As a result, the storm represents bad times, as well as how problems sometimes make people blind, and do not let them see reality and the goods things in life.

Then the author depicts the terrible sounds of the storm, as if evil creatures were laughing and making noises on top of a roof. Thus, they refer to people's feelings of fear in times of trouble.

In a short period of time, the next morning, the sun comes out and problems disappear. As a consequence, there is a sense of peace as if it were heaven.
