<u>Filippo Brunelleschi</u> was commissioned by the Medici family for most projects. The Medici family were rich bankers in Florence who gave large amounts of money to artists to build buildings, produce paintings, and sculpt for the inner community. They were responsible for most of the art and buildings there today.
