How is TV news programming today different from news programs of the 20th century?

English

Lady bird [3.3K]3 years ago

Answer:

The content of today's news programming is usually more serious than in previous eras.

Explanation:

TV news programming before the 20th century was non existent. Medium of information dissemination was done mostly through cable or radio and these medium were slow and unreliable. Then in the 20th century, there was the availability of television sets which soon overtook the radio as the most used media for news or information dissemination. Satellite was also used as it connected people to news from other parts of the world.

The use of television, satellite, Internet and social media to disseminate information became more popular ad widely used in the 21st century. Back in the 20th century, news was made almost as an afterthought; much importance wasn't placed on news.

Now in the 21st century, news is now serious business. More news outlets jostle to get the "inside scoop" on news so they can get an exclusive or be the first to break a news. News can be broadcast live and then be rebroadcast later, which wasn't done in the 20th century.

Now there are ethics guiding news dissemination, wider coverage, more air time, etc.

Which tragic flaw of Juliet’s character is reflected in this excerpt?
Murrr4er [49]

The tragic flaw of Juliet’s character that is reflected in this excerpt is her tendency to act without forethought.

Admittedly, Juliet was strongly guided by her heart, she is so much in love and loyal to Romeo that she could not imagine her life without him.

Prior to this scene, as he thought that Juliet was dead, Romeo desired to enter the tomb in which Juliet laid dead desperately. When he sees Paris he urged him to get away from the tomb, but he didn't. Paris and Romeo indulge themselves in a fight in which Romeo defeated and killed Paris. He takes Paris into Juliet's tomb and then drinks the poison. When Juliet awakes, she finds Romeo dead. Consequently, she too stabs herself with a dagger.

What is passive reading
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

Passive reading is when a reader does technically read the words but absorbs next to nothing about what is written. Active readers begin reading with a desire to find out what is going to be said.

The difference between active and passive reading is your goal, the reason you are reading in the first place. In passive reading, your goal is to learn what the writer thinks about the topic or subject. In active reading, your goal is to learn what you think about the topic or subject.

Passive readers expect an author to do all the work, to motivate them and keep them interested. Active readers are self-motivated, and they take responsibility for arousing and maintaining their own interest in an author's topic. Passive readers read without thinking.
