The misplaced modifier is found in the sentence: “Some people, as they drive down the street, throw garbage out the window.” The phrase “as they drive down the street” is placed in the middle of the sentence. Its proper position could be at the ending or beginning of the sentence such as: “Some people throw garbage out the window as they drive down the street” or “As they drive down the street, some people throw garbage out the window.”

Answer:

C

I don't get the impression that she works. She's living off the land. I wouldn't pick b unless you know more of the story. So unless you know differently, B is not the answer.

It can't be D. She's not choosing to live the way she does. It's forced on her.

I don't get the impression she farms.

I think your answer is C

Long, unbroken pages of text show authority and draw the reader into the writing
Liula [17]
As a writer and reader I disagree with this. Perhaps if you are writing for a scientific journal or business report, long blocks of text can seem like you have a lot of info. Generally speaking, especially in fiction and non fiction i think unbroken pages of text will best case scenario bore a reader, worst case scenraio burden and overwhelm them with a lot of info so the feel daunted about continuing.
