If 3/4 cup plain yogurt equals to 90 calories, how many calories does 1/2 cup equal to

There are three 1/4 cups in 3/4, so divide 90 by 3 to find how many calories are in 1/4 cup

90 / 3 = 30 calories per 1/4 cup.

1/2 cup contains two 1/4 cups ( 1/4 +1/4 = 1/2)

Multiply 30 calories per 1/4 cup by 2:

30 * 2 = 60

1/2 cup of yogurt contains 60 calories.

1. the mean is 16

2. the mean is 22.5

the formula that can be used to calculate the mean is

= sum of terms/number of terms

for the first question the mean can be calculated as follows

sum of terms= 20+15+19+16+10

                             = 80

number of terms= 5

mean= 80/5

= 16

for the second question the mean can be calculated as follows

sum of terms= 19+23+11+30+27+27+22+26+16+24

                      = 225

number of terms= 10

mean= 225/10

= 22.5

Hence the mean for the first expression is 16 and the mean for the second expression is 22.5

A safety regulation states that the height hh of a guardrail should be 106 centimeters with an absolute deviation of no more tha
iren [92.7K]

Let us say that h is the height of the guardrail. Therefore the inequality equation that we can generate from this scenario is:

| h – 106 | = ± 7

There are two ways to solve this, either the equation is positive or negative.

When the equation is positive, therefore:

| h – 106 | = 7

h = 7 + 106 = 113 cm

When the equation is negative, therefore:

| h – 106 | = - 7

h = -7 + 106 = 99 cm

So the height must be 99 cm to 113 cm

What is the equation, in point-slope form, of the line that is perpendicular to the given line and passes through the point (−4,
defon
Point-slope form : y-y₁=m(x-x₁)

Perpendicular to the given line, and passes through (-4, -3)

Given line slope : -4

How we found slope : I found 2 exact points, and found the slope by doing the slope formula (y₂-y₁/x₂-x₁)

m = slope

However, when a line is perpendicular, we must find the negative reciprocal of our slope.

Slope₁ = -4

Slope ₂ = 1/4

Simply plug everything in.

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y + 3 = 1/4(x +4)

~Hope I helped!~
