Question 1: I would say it is an assonance (a vowel rhyme in the sounds of words or syllables between their consonants). In this line the dominant sound is “Sa” which is repeated in the initial syllables of the words , Santi, Sound and Science. Therefore the correct answer is C. Assonance.

Question 2:  it could not be a personification since an animal can also howl as much as a person. It is then a metaphor as the wind does not “howl” per see. The noise is produces by the strong speed of the wind and it come in contact with a solid surface that make it vibrate, creating sound. The correct answer is therefore C. Metaphor.

Question 3: The answer is definitely an idiom which means to encourage a person before a public performance. It is based on the superstition that to wish someone “good luck” has actually the opposite effect and thus, wishing someone something negative as breaking his own leg will actually have the opposite, positive effect. The answer is C. Idiom.

The first one is alliteration because the sentence has same letter in the begging of the word

the second one is personification  because the wind did not howled at night

the last one is idiom  because break a leg means good luck

Jane Eyre and Charlotte Brontë are alike in that they are trying to gain recognition in a male-dominated society.

Explanation:

The author Charlotte Brontë provides a critique of Victorian England and the social hierarchies that structured society at the time. In Jane Eyre, Brontë used the ambiguity in the position of the governess to show how class standing was a source of tension throughout the book. Jane had the manners and educated background and was sophisticated as Victorian governesses were expected to be because they taught etiquette and academics to the children of elites. However, they were employees and lacked the wealth and were dependent on the families they worked for, much like servants. Women were similarly dependent and discouraged from pursuing the means to be self-sufficient. Jane Eyre's journey allows her to build up skills and to establish herself so she can marry Rochester as an equal. The author writes that "but women feel just as men feel; they need exercise for their faculties, and a field for their efforts as much as their brothers do," (p 127) an idea that was radical for her time.
