Part 1: Plot Elements

Elements definition

Define each term in your own words

Identify the act in which each element occurs

Exposition: Introduction of the characters, settings, and their unaltered reality is presented to the reader/viewer before any conflict develops. This part sets up the story. This plot element happens in Act 1

Rising Action: is the development of conflicting situations between the protagonist and the main problem or antagonist that starts to unfold the plot of the story. This plot element occurs in Act 2

Climax: The highest point of tension of a story, means the direct conflict between protagonist and antagonist. One must win. This element occurs in Act 3

Falling action: Follow the climax and start to resolve the conflict, things start falling into a new order. This element occurs in Act 3

Resolution: The achievement of a new reality, symbolizes the end of the story and the resolution of the main conflict of it. This element occurs in Act 3

Explanation:

The definitions above are described and classified as they are by The Classical Paradigm. This is a formula to develop story that dates back to the book Poetics from Aristotle in Ancient Greece. This structure has three main acts the set up, the confrontation, and resolution also it contains several plot elements such as: exposition, plot point I, rising action, midpoint, plot point II, climax, falling action, and resolution. As you can see this is only the first part of the answer as the specified scenes and other supporting information is not provided, If you would like me to continue answering please provide the supporting details and I will be pleased to help you. s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

In former President Obama's speech, he puts emphasis on the need for immediate action on environmental impact caused by society, he uses persuasive techniques by mentioning examples of environmental impact such as Fiji villagers being forced from their homes due to rising sea levels and melting glaciers in Alaska. It appears that he tries to appeal to peoples feelings and ethics by using pathos and ethos in his argument.

He also appeals to the audiences logic by using logos for example, his mentioning of uninterrupted job growth. While still being able to increase use of clean energy as opposed to unclean energy. And also providing reassurance that there have been successful cases of increasing use of clean energy. He mentions the Paris agreement and it's change for the better in the environment.

These contradictory descriptions can be reconciled because they capture both sides of what Hester has become because of her experiences. She is seen as pure, warm, and tender, because she has turned her life around. She is pleased to have her daughter, she helps others in the community, and people have begun to see her as a better person.

She is also seen as cold, because she has to carry the burden of holding a secret (the identity of her husband), and cannot be with the man she wants to be with.
