Answer:

The two most commonly used designs for research studies are non-experimental and experimental.

The correlational and descriptive designs of research are considered and referred as non-experimental designs.

In non-experimental designs focus on examining variables as they naturally occur in environments and not in the implementation of treatment by the researcher.

On account of their capacity to decide causation, experimental designs are the highest quality level for research in medication, science, and sociology and so on.

In experimental design, researchers use random assignment and they manipulate an independent variable around a controlled variable. A true experimental design there must be randomization, a control group and manipulation of a variable when examining the direct cause or predicted relationships between variables.

Competitive price taker firms always earn zero economic profit in long run equilibrium because:_______
Westkost [7]

Competitive price taker firms always earn zero economic profit in long-run equilibrium because of the following reasons which include easy entry & exit, small player etc.

Perfect competition exists when there are many sellers, firms can easily enter and exit, products are identical from one seller to the next, and sellers are price takers.

A perfectly competitive firm must accept the equilibrium price at which it sells goods because it is a price taker.

A perfectly competitive firm will be unable to make any sales if it charges even a small amount more than the market price.

Furthermore, a perfectly competitive firm must be a very small player in the overall market, allowing it to increase or decrease output without affecting the overall quantity supplied and price in the market.

Hence, Competitive price taker firms always earn zero economic profit in long-run equilibrium.

The management of Ballard MicroBrew is considering the purchase of an automated bottling machine for $120,000. The machine would
almond37 [142]

Answer:

7.5%

Explanation:

Cost savings :

= Equipment cost - New machine cost

= 30,000 - 12,000

= 18,000

Depreciation per year :

= Cost of automated bottling machine ÷ Useful years

= 120,000 ÷ 10

= 12,000

Simple rate of return:

= (Cost savings - Depreciation of new equipment) ÷ (cost - salvage of old)

= (18,000 - 12,000) ÷ (120,000 - 40,000)

= 6,000 ÷ 80,000

= 0.075

= 7.5%
