Explanation: an oxymoron is a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction in order to create an effect in the audience. In the given sentence we can see a clear example of an oxymoron, because it says that it was an "open secret," a secret is something that is not meant to be known or seen by others, so to say that it is "open" seems to be contradictory.
