You could simply turn them into decimals.
3.4 - 2.8
Which is .6 or as a fraction 6/10 or simplified 3/5

You can do like this:
reduce 3 2/5 to an improper fraction: which is 2 7/5 and then you can easily minus 2 4/5 from it! The answer is 3/5 :)

A candidate for one of Ohio's two U.S. Senate seats wishes to compare her support among registered voters in the northern half o
Radda [10]

Answer:

(0.531-0.45) - 1.96 \sqrt{\frac{0.531(1-0.531)}{2000} +\frac{0.45(1-0.45)}{2000}}=0.050

(0.531-0.45) + 1.96 \sqrt{\frac{0.531(1-0.531)}{2000} +\frac{0.45(1-0.45)}{2000}}=0.112

And the best option for this case would be:

A. 0.050 to 0.112.

Step-by-step explanation:

Data given

p_A represent the real population proportion of who support the cnadite for the northern half state

\hat p_A =\frac{1062}{2000}=0.531 represent the estimated proportion of who support the candidate for the northern half state

n_A=2000 is the sample size required the northern half state

p_B represent the real population proportion of who support the candidate for the southern half state

\hat p_B =\frac{900}{2000}=0.45 represent the estimated proportion of people who support the candidate for the southern half state

n_B=2000 is the sample size for the northern half state

z represent the critical value

The confidence interval for the difference of two proportions would be given by this formula

(\hat p_A -\hat p_B) \pm z_{\alpha/2} \sqrt{\frac{\hat p_A(1-\hat p_A)}{n_A} +\frac{\hat p_B (1-\hat p_B)}{n_B}}

For the 95% confidence interval the value of \alpha=1-0.95=0.05 and \alpha/2=0.025, with that value we can find the quantile in the normal standard distribution and we got.

z_{\alpha/2}=1.96

Replacing into the formula we got:

(0.531-0.45) - 1.96 \sqrt{\frac{0.531(1-0.531)}{2000} +\frac{0.45(1-0.45)}{2000}}=0.050

(0.531-0.45) + 1.96 \sqrt{\frac{0.531(1-0.531)}{2000} +\frac{0.45(1-0.45)}{2000}}=0.112

And the best option for this case would be:

A. 0.050 to 0.112.

Bobby's dad is 41 and is 6 more than 5 times Bobby's age. Bobby's little sister Emma is one less than half his age. How old are
34kurt
Bobby is 7 and his sister is 3.

Explanation : his dads age : 41
since his dads age is six more than, you would subtract 6 from 41 to get 35.
and since 35 is 5 times bobby’s age you would divide 35 by 5 to get 7
So bobby is 7.

bobby’s sister :
bobby’s age : 7
bobby’s little sisters age is one less than half of his age you subtract 1 from 7 and you would get 6
Now that it’s one less you have to find half so divide 6 by 2 and you’ll get 3
So bobby’s sister is 3.

bobby’s age : 41 - 6 = 35
35 (divided by) 5 = 7
bobby’s sister : 7 - 1 = 6
6 (divided by) 2 = 3

A Laplace expansion along the first row gives

=1(10-5)-4(25-1)+4(25-2)

In a certain quiz that consists of 10 questions, each question after the first is worth 4 points more than the preceding questio
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

C. 26

Step-by-step explanation:

Let’s suppose that the first question is worth ‘’x’’ amount of points. Then the second question will be worth x+4, the third question x+8, the fourth question x+12, the fifth x+ 16, the sixth x+20, the seventh x+24, the eighth x+ 28, the ninth x+ 32, and the last one x + 36.

The sum of the points of all these questions is equal to 10x + 180. Since the quiz has a total of 360 points, then

10x + 180 = 360.

Solving for x we get:

X = 18.

This means that the first question is worth 18 points, the second one 22 points (18 +4), the third one 26 points(18+4+4), and so on.
