circumference of a circle=2πr

area=πr²

1) we calculate the radius of this circle.
Data:
area=9π m²
area=πr²

9π m²=πr²
r²=9π m² / π
r²=9 m²
r=√(9 m²)=3 m

2) we calculate the circumference:
circumference=2πr=2π(3 m)=6π m

Answer: the circumference is 6π m

What is the area of the shaded region below?
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Remark

The triangle with the shaded region makes exactly 1/4 of the entire circle. So the plan is to find the area of the circle and divide by 4. That gives you the area of the triangle and the shaded region. Then you find the area of the triangle and subtract it from what you just found.

Area of the circle

Area of the circle = pi * r^2

r = 12 cm

pi = 3.14

Area of the circle = 3.14 * 12^2

Area of the circle = 3.14 * 144

Area of the circle = 452.16 cm^2

Area of 1/4 of the circle

Area of 1/4 of the circle = (1/4)*452.16

Area of 1/4 of the circle = 113.04

Area of the triangle

b = r

h = r

b = 12 cm

h = 12 cm

Area = 1/2 b * h

area = 1/2 * 12 * 12

area = 72

Area of the shaded part

Shaded part = area of 1/4 of the circle - area of triangle

Area shaded part = 113.04 - 72 = 41.04

Answer area of shaded part = 41.04

100 POINTS! (the wrong answer gets reported)
Pepsi [2]

Replace x with the x values of the choices and see if it solves to equal the y value:

Y=-7x + 2

A) (1,2)

Y = -7(1) + 2 = -7 + 2 = -5 not 2

A is wrong

B (8,-54)

Y = -7(8) + 2 = -56+ 2 = -54

This works out.

The answer is B
