Answer:

13.31%

Explanation:

some information is missing:

Year Cash flows

0 −$1,100

1 $450

2 $470

3 $490

the easiest way to calculate the IRR is by using a financial calculator, IRR = 13.31%

but if we don't have one at hand, the IRR is the discount rate at which a project's NPV = 0

1,100 = 450/(1 + r) + 470/(1 + r)² + 490/(1 + r)³

to simplify the formula we must use trial and error:

since we already know the real IRR, I will start with a close number like 10%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.1) + 470/(1 + 0.1)² + 490/(1 + 0.1)³

1,100 = 409.09 + 388.43 + 368.14

1,100 ≠ 1,165.66

since the NPV is still positive, we must increase the discount rate. following the example we can use 12%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.12) + 470/(1 + 0.12)² + 490/(1 + 0.12)³

1,100 = 401.79 + 374.68 + 348.77

1,100 ≠ 1,125.24

we must increase the discount rate even more to 13%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.13) + 470/(1 + 0.13)² + 490/(1 + 0.13)³

1,100 = 398.23 + 368.08 + 339.59

1,100 ≠ 1,105.90

we keep increasing the discount rate to 14%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.14) + 470/(1 + 0.14)² + 490/(1 + 0.14)³

1,100 = 394.74 + 361.65 + 330.74

1,100 ≠ 1,087.13

since now the NPV is negative, the discount rate must be between 13-14%

we continue this way until we finally reach 13.31%

Which of the following is not true of generally accepted accounting principles?
andrey2020 [161]

Answer:

(A) GAAP does not have substantial authoritative support.

Explanation:

Choices B to C are true about GAAP.

Now, Choice A is not true since GAAP also includes detailed procedures and practices that provide a standard and not only broad guidelines of general application and this will imply that GAAP has a substantial authoritative support.

Also it is called "Generally Accepted Accounting Principles" for this reason.

In theory, protectionist policies will prevent some imports that might injure workers in several different ways: fewer jobs, low
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer and Explanation:

Protectionist policies followed by the government will lead to lack of competition for domestic firms in the market. When there is lack of competition for domestic firms in the market, this will make the firms inefficient in the long run in the country which has imposed protectionist policies. When the firms become inefficient, there will be less job creation in the jobs market and demand for labor will also reduce because of fall in profits of the firm. When profits fall, the firms will not be interested in providing safe working conditions to its employees because it will increase their cost of production reducing profits further. Thus, protectionist policies can lead to fewer jobs, lower wages or poor working conditions for the firm.

Which of the following is not a limitation to monetary policy? a. Because the Federal Reserve System is made up of twelve bra
rosijanka [135]

Answer: The following is not a limitation to monetary policy: because the Federal Reserve System is made up of twelve branches, it is essentially very difficult to get a decision enacted by the Board of Governors.

The monetary policy have limitation in regard with fiscal policy, governance and other such entities. These limitations are as follow:

The effects of monetary policy by and large happen after some time has passed as they are to be carried out through commercial banks.

Fiscal policies often tend to be at odds or against certain monetary policies and its impact when enforced.

The Fed does not have control over international banks or non-member banks and thus any decision taken by them tends to affect the mere nature of monetary policies implemented by Fed.

Goryan [66]

Answer:

We count on companies to provide us with safe products, and to provide us with full disclosure if they are using potentially harmful chemicals in the production and distribution of their products. Under strict product liability, if in a court of law it is proven that a well-known fast food chain is using a potentially harmful chemical in the preparation of their fries, the company is likely to be required to disclose information on this process to its customers.

Explanation:

Strict product liability is where even if a product was safely designed, was properly manufactured, and contained an appropriate warning, a manufacturer or retailer of a product may be liable for injuries resulting from use of the product simply because the product caused those injuries.
